What standard is used to judge the quality of professional audio equipment

Nov 09,2022

Now the professional audio equipment market is in chaos, and the prices are flying everywhere, ranging from tens of yuan lower to tens of thousands of yuan higher. How do you choose a suitable speaker? Before you buy a speaker, you must first identify your needs. Is it to see the power supply or play games, or to listen to music? There is also the price, the range you can afford. Many newcomers think that it is appropriate to be expensive. In fact, many people can only listen to the music that the merchants play for you, and feel the effect, but they do not understand the technical parameters. Here is a brief introduction to the technical parameters of professional audio equipment.

The technical parameters of professional audio equipment can be explained mainly from the aspects of sound effect technology, frequency response range, sensitivity, power, signal-to-noise ratio, distortion and impedance.

1、 Sound effect technology

Hardware 3D sound effect technology is now more common, including SRS, APX, Q-SOURCE and Virtaul Dolby. Although they are implemented in different ways, they can make people feel obvious 3D effects, and the first one is the most common.

2、 Frequency response range

Generally, the frequency response range of professional audio equipment is the frequency range and frequency response. The former refers to the range between the lowest effective playback frequency and the highest effective playback frequency of the speaker system; The latter refers to the connection of an audio signal with constant voltage output to the system. This technical index is an important parameter to evaluate the performance of a speaker, and it has a direct relationship with the performance and price of the speaker. Therefore, you should pay special attention when purchasing speakers. However, many manufacturers have false labels, so you should listen carefully.

3、 Power

In professional audio equipment, power parameters are also confused. Generally, power refers to how powerful the sound from the speaker can be. This power is marked in two ways: rated power and maximum power (instantaneous power or peak power PMPO). This will not be explained in detail. Go to search and you will know that in general, businesses usually mark the music power very high in order to cater to consumers' psychology, so when purchasing multimedia speakers, the rated power should prevail. It is hereby explained that the higher the power is, the better it is. The best one is fit. It is calculated according to the area.

4、 Sensitivity

The sensitivity index of professional audio equipment refers to the sound pressure level measured one meter in front of the vertical central axis of the speaker plane when the 1W/1kHz signal is input to the speaker input terminal. The unit of sensitivity is decibel (DB). Every 3dB difference in the sensitivity of the speaker will double the output sound pressure. The sensitivity of ordinary speakers is in the range of 85~90dB. Below 85dB is low sensitivity, and above 90dB is high sensitivity. Generally, the sensitivity of multimedia speakers is slightly lower.
