Broadcast sound system and conference sound equipment system

Jul 12,2022

Professional performance sound systems, public address sound systems, conference sound systems are all called sound systems, and they are all very similar in style, so it is difficult for many people to distinguish between the three. In fact, these devices are essentially sound systems, but in different directions and different occasions. Next, we will summarize them in detail.

1. The applications of the above three systems are different. The so-called performance audio system is mainly used for performance amplification. It is divided into indoor performances and outdoor performances, and its requirements are also different according to the above different occasions.

Public address sound systems generally refer to large buildings, such as shopping malls, airports, railway stations, exhibition areas, comprehensive office areas, etc., used to play background sounds and broadcast announcements.

The conference sound system is mainly used for sound reinforcement of conferences and speeches. Broadcast sound system

2. The three systems have different requirements.

in terms of performance systems. It should work for all kinds of performances: operas, concerts, concerts, plays, etc. Highlight system configuration and layout features. In the case of public address systems, usually only language or background music is considered. In systems connected to fire emergency broadcasts, there is a special trigger switch function. When arranging the loudspeakers (speakers), the uniformity of sound coverage and the sheer fragmentation of the conference system need to be considered. We only need to consider using a dedicated conference sound reinforcement system (commonly known as hand-in-hand) or a conventional sound reinforcement system, as well as the corresponding conference microphone.

3. The equipment composition of the three systems is different.

Output power, frequency response, peripherals, speaker configurations, etc. can vary widely depending on system application. Generally speaking, the performance sound has very high requirements on the system, and the system composition is more complex and flexible. Peripherals such as equalization, delay, voltage limiting, frequency crossover, reverberation, excitation, etc. need to have a wide frequency response range, from 35 to 20K, with output power ranging from several kilowatts to tens of thousands of watts and speakers, power from 10 watts to 10 watts. All equipment works in high-fidelity mode, while public address systems are much simpler in equipment composition, with only few signal sources, simple program control functions and corresponding constant voltage or power amplifiers. The program is relatively fixed, and the frequency response is between 100 and 10K. Conference audio equipment can be understood as a simplified and streamlined version of the performance system, that is, conferences and meeting rooms often share a system with multi-functional theaters and assembly halls. For a small conference system, just configure a mixer, an amplifier and a pair of speakers. Other configurations include peripherals or audio integrated processors and feedback suppressors, and some system metrics are graded according to usage level and investment.
